About the Leontief Prize

The Leontief Prize for Advancing the Frontiers of Economic Thought recognizes economists whose work, like that of the institute and Dr. Wassily Leontief, combines theoretical and empirical research to promote a more comprehensive understanding of social and environmental processes. The inaugural prizes were awarded in 2000 to John Kenneth Galbraith and Nobel Prize winner Amartya Sen.

The live stream of the 2017 Leontief Prize ceremony is available here and will begin at 4:00pm EDT.

If you are not available at that time, it will be posted a recording of the event shortly.
